Christmas Really!!!

I cannot believe it is almost Christmas.  The tree is up and the other decorations are up but there are few gifts bought and none wrapped!!!  Grandma really??? (that's what Hanna keeps saying)  Well I'm working on it and here are some other gifts I am working on!!

This pattern is from Adkinson Designs and it so easy and fun to make.  A good way to use scraps!

These are from Moda Bake Shop.  A free pattern and again very easy.  They make great gifts.

Happy sewing.  Talk to you soon

Busy Busy Busy

The last 2 weeks has been crazy around here.  I helped a friend at a craft show and it was so much fun.  I'll post pictures really soon (Hanna has the camera).  Also I have finished several tops, ready to go to the quilter.  Oh yeah I don't want to forget getting ready for Thanksgiving!!  There are not enough hours in the day!

Have family coming for Thanksgiving dinner and most of the food is ready except for the homemade Orange Cinnamon bread I will make tomorrow.  It's a bread my Mom always made for Thanksgiving and Christmas and since she is no longer with us I have carried on the tradition.  It just wouldn't be the holidays without it.

I hope everyone has a great and blessed Thanksgiving.  Mike and I are so truly blessed it hard to count all the blessings.

Talk to you soon.

Sewing Room

It's been a week or so but as you will see I have been busy cleaning and organizing my sewing room.  I finally have all my fat quarters organized by color, much easier to find what I am looking for.  Check it out:

Baskets are a great way to organize your work space.  I keep jelly rolls, charm packs and layer cakes in some of mine......
My Pfaff sewing machine is the one I use for piecing.  I love it!!

I made this ironing table myself using a TV table and it is one of my favorite things.  I set it right next to my sewing machine.

Projects and more projects......... A peg board is a great way to keep all your rulers organized and right at hand.

More fabric at least it's by colors and I can see it each time I go into my sewing room

I just finished Blueberry Chocolate Squares by Karrie Lyne yesterday and I love it!!!  The pattern is on Moda Bake Shop.  The fabric is also Moda Prue by Sweetwater.

Retreat Sweet Sensations 2010

Peacemakers Quilt Guild had a wonderful retreat.  We had so much fun, quilting, applique, food and lots of laughs.  A great time was had by all.

The bags and towel aprons was a big success as well.  I'll post the pictures soon.  The all turned out great and the ladies all had their own spin on how they want them embellished!!  It was great to see all the different ones.

It so much fun to see how other quilters use your pattern and make it their own.  That's what makes this so much fun.

Gotta go get ready for a class on bindings!!

See you soon

13

It must be great to be 13 years old!!  Today is Hanna's 13th birthday and it is so hard to believe.  She has grown up way too fast, seems like only yesterday she was just a baby.  She has grown into a wonderful young lady, that is truly the love of our lives.  Happy Birthday Hanna.  We are having a party next week end for her and she is so excited.  She is also having a party today with her friends from school, we have been celebrating for days it seems and the celebration continues !!  Noah's birthday is next month so we will do this all over again.

I am still getting ready for the retreat and I'm sure I will forget something!  The retreat is at Shaw's Nature Preserve.  I have never been there but it sounds great and I am so excited to be teaching and hopefully getting in a little sewing.  I'll post pictures when I get back.

Stay tuned more to come

Cleaning

What a great day.  Bible Study this morning at Sunrise and it was great.  Worry was the subject and believe me I am the queen of worry.  I worry about worrying!!!

Monkey Bread fresh out of the oven and boy does it smell good.  Good thing Noah is not here or it would never make it to the church in the morning.

I've been cleaning out my sewing room and I'm pretty sure it is a sin to have this much stash!  I have lots to give to those who make charity quilts. My friend  Pam was here toady  and she took some.  She is a nurse in the ER at Cardnial Glennon Hospital and makes quilts for babies who come in to the hospital.

I've been getting ready for the retreat next week.  I will be teaching a bag class.  The bags pictures above will be the pattern.  It is so simple can be easily made in a couple of hours.  Sometime I need to decide what I am going to take and oh I guess I should pack.

Well guess I should get ready for a beginner quilter who will be here any minute to learn how to put on a binding.

Finally

I have finally hit the blogging world!!!  I have been very busy since I retired and closed Raspberry Patch Quilts.  I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time this summer with my grand kids, Hanna and Noah.  They are growing up way too fast.

We spent a lot of time watching Noah play baseball.  He's quite the slugger!!

Mike and I are getting used to this whole retirement thing and it;s not too bad.  We seem to not pay a lot of attention to the clock.  Well Mike knows when it is time to play golf.

And we have spent time watching and cheering Hanna on as well at Volleyball.

I have finished a lot of quilts.  They all have bindings and now I have a stack now that need to be quilted.  Hopefully that will happen this winter.  I have been doing some teaching and that has been great fun.  I have been designing and will have some patterns coming soon.

I look forward to sharing with all of you so come back and visit soon.
